'Pascuita' is new cultivar which appeared spontaneously at Montoso Gardens, possibly a seedling of 'Valentine'. It is named for its resemblance to a miniature version of Heliconia wagneriana, which is Spanish is called "heliconia de Pascua" because it blooms around Easter. A vigorous plant and prolific bloomer, 3-4 feet tall. Can grow in partial shade to full sun, and will bloom in a pot. Bracts are pinkish red, fading into a pale yellow rachis, with a green border.
