Heliconia orthotricha 'Edge of Nite' (Heliconiaceae) 

    'Edge of Nite' is  a medium size heliconia, about 4-5 feet tall.  Bracts are red-orange, becoming lighter toward the rachis and dark green toward the border, finishing in a thin, light green line.  Bracts and leaf petioles are covered with fine, velvety hairs.  Grows well in partial to full shade.  Blooms from December to July.  Plant habit is open and spreading.
