Heliconia champneiana 'Splash' (Heliconiaceae) 

'Splash' is a striking erect heliconia with a flower that gets as much as 3 feet long!  It is a large plant, about 8-10 feet tall, and has fat orange bracts with blood red spots.  The spots sometimes coalesce into blotches, and the rachis is typically red.  Grows in partial shade to full sun.  Blooms primarily from May through August in Puerto Rico.
