Heliconia bihai x caribaea 'Richmond Red' (Heliconiaceae) 

    'Richmond Red' is a natural hybrid of Heliconia bihai and Heliconia caribaea Red'.  Bracts are bright red with a wide yellow lip.  The plant is vigorous, erect and clumping, from 8-10 feet tall.  Can grow in partial shade to full sun.  Blooms from May through September.
