Etlingera elatior 'Pink Torch' (Zingiberaceae) Common Names English: pink torch ginger Spanish: antorcha rosada
'Pink Torch' has tall, gracefully arching 10-12 foot leaves and lovely porcelain pink inflorescences from 3-4 feet tall. The pink "petals" are actually bracts, which later reveal small yellow true flowers inside. Attractive in the garden and as an exotic, but not long lasting, cut flower. Blooms throughout the year. Propagated by division and seeds.
