'Nardo' has beautiful purple blooms about a foot tall. Bracts are a hot purple-pink color, becoming white toward the base. The lower bracts are smaller, greenish with a purple blush. True flowers are pale yellow, and peek out from the bracts. Blooms are basal, and begin emerging from the ground in March and April, followed by leaf emergence. Blooms continually throughout the summer. Dormant in winter. Propagated by division.
