Alpinia zerumbet 'Yu Hwa' , also called Chinese variegated ginger, is a rare form of the regular green Alpinia zerumbet, with delicate creamy yellow stripes on the leaves. It forms a large clump with stems up to 6-7 feet tall. Blooms from March to May in Puerto Rico. Will grow in shade, partial sun or full sun. 'Yu Hwa' is propagated by division.
